He turned towards the castle, and, almost instinctively, he reached for Trianna's hand. The gesture was small, and subtle, and RB drew his palm back immediately.
[Cont. in the Dragon Keep...Is that where the eggs would be?]

Farusan had created a diversion as best he could while Raven and Trianna had been gone. He was worried about the elf boy, but trusted Trianna to keep him under control.
After circling most of Lithonion, Farusan finally managed to lose the pursuing soldiers. He hadn't needed to reveal his identity and had instead stolen an expensive piece of jewellery, although he had dropped it in plain sight before he escaped- he was no common thief.
He slowed Karsal down to a walk and breathed heavily, heading back to the alley they had began the day at, he spied a farmers cart travelling towards him and realised Trianna and Raven were riding in it. Something on their faces instantly told him something was up and before they had a chance to get out of the cart, he had wrenched Trianna's bag and the egg from under RB's shirt. He scowled as he ripped open the bag to discover the hatchling.
"I told you ONE EGG!" he spat into RB's face. This could ruin all of his plans. The castle would soon notice what had happened, every egg was measured, weighed and kept under close scrutiny and although they probably would have realised that one was missing in due time, this would make it much faster.
Farusan was fuming, his blood boiled and he glared at Ravens face. "I told you." he repeated. "You have risked EVERYTHING i have." To Trianna he said not a word. He knew that she had probably tried to convince him to leave the hatchling behind and he had most likely tricked her in someway. He still held the egg in one hand and the sleeping dragon in another. The mental link between rider and dragon would not yet have been established between RB and this creature, but Farusan also knew that because he had not witnessed the hatch, he could not become its rider. There was only one thing for it. He was going to have to release it.
Leaving it with Raven would only result in the Royals finding both the dragon and boy. Farusan refused to let the elf back into his camp after this betrayal, and a child bringing up a dragon on his own? It was unheard of. He could also never get back into the keep to put the hatchling back, and even if he did he was sure that the keepers would have some way of finding out who had broken in, and although he no longer cared for the boy, he did not want Trianna to come to harm. She was innocent.
He pushed the egg and tiny dragon into his owen bag and carefully passed Triannas bag back to her. "I'm sorry" he said quietly, "You should never have become involved. I hope you forgive me, but you will have to find your own means of travel." He then turned to Raven one last time. "Do not try to steal this dragon or the egg." and with that he mounted Karsal and rode back to camp.

"I HATE YOU! MOTHERf**kING pregnant dog!" Raven screamed. His heart wanted to pound furiously, but it had a far sadder beat to it. Sobbing, he collapsed on the ground. Alanni had brightened his whole spirit. "Oh god, no no no!" he cried, tears streaking down his face. In his eyes, this was the utter betrayal, something that Farusan would have to die for. "I...wish...I...were...dead" he muttered. All his blame was pointing at one person, himself. It wasn't sensible, but that's the way things were. RB had spent his whole life trying to earn a dragon egg, and to have it wrenched away from him was worse then anyone could expect. RB had gone from a happy, cheerful young boy to a wreck.

Anger boiled up in Trianna against the outlaw leader as she saw him wrench little Alanni from her bag, casually callused against Raven’s screams, and ride off. For a moment she considered running after him to try and explain to him that things were actually much better than they seemed, that the dragon keepers might well not notice for hours that there was anything amiss because only one dragon would appear to be missing, but she rejected quickly. She didn’t like the idea of leaving Raven alone when he was on the verge of hysterics, and Trianna had the feeling Sawyer wouldn’t change what he was going to do no matter what she said. Instead she turned her attention to the boy, who had calmed somewhat, and was now moaning as if in physical pain.
Rather than try to hug him- something Trianna suspected Raven would not appreciate, she put a comforting hand on his shoulder and dug through her bag for a clean cloth, which she handed to him to serve as a handkerchief. Transferring the herb pouch back to her satchel, now that there was no longer a hatchling inside, she said soothingly. “It’s alright, don’t think about that right now. You’ll be fine. Come on, let’s- let’s see if there’s anyone heading to the gypsy camp where I live. If not we’ll have to walk. You can stay there with us for now if you like; we take all sorts of people. After that, we can figure out what to do about Alanni, and if there’s any way I can help you see her.” She was not expecting to say the last words; after all chances were that Farusan would not even keep the creature, or let Raven near the camp, and those facts could create a whole host of problems, but Raven needed some sort of hope to look forward to, and he also needed to calm down before he drew too much attention to himself. Trianna was willing to bet that if they stuck around in Lithonion too much longer, the guards would find a way to catch up with the dragon thieves. “Come on” She said, pulling him along with her and walking at a brisk pace towards the city gate “Let’s get out of Lithonion.”
