When Elirae woke late the next morning, and blinked the harsh light from her eyes. The clearing looked like a proper camp now that Arikain had created two rough beds. Eli stood up carefully, without putting any weight on her bad ankle and stretched her arms and good leg. The hard ground had left her muscles aching and stiff and she desperatly needed to move. The gentle current of the stream sounded inviting and very carefully, using her pony to lean on, she made her way over to it.
Once her face and neck had been rinsed, she felt a little fresher and sat by the rivers edge, bathing her foot. In the light of day, she could see that it as badly swollen and very bruised but was still unsure as to whether it was broken. It definitely hurt enough. The cool water helped relieve a little of the aching and she set about using dry sticks to create a rough splint to hold it straight until she got to Lithonion and could visit a healer.
After the events of the night before, Eli decided she was not going to speak to Arikain any more, and although she found it difficult with her ankle throbbing so, she saddled up her steed and managed to mount, although one foot hung limp instead of in the stirrup. Her stability was affected somewhat and she found she could not travel particuarly fast, it was going to take a while to get to Lithonion.
